小中Valedictorian在高中毕业典礼上的Speech

First off, I’d like to congratulate the Class of 2009 for an amazing 4 years of high school. Secondly, I’d like to congratulate Michael XXXXX for becoming Salutatorian, great job.
So let me introduce myself. My name is XXXXXXX and I was born in XXXXXXX, XXXX. I did my first Calculus Problem when I was three months old and learned to walk when I was one. I only go for Asian girls because, well, I don’t want to be outcast by my family. No, actually, that was just a joke, Kacy, please call me tonight. In A.P. Gov, I couldn’t really tell you what was on the board half the time because Mr. Yang’s biceps covered half the board, which is incredible, since he’s Asian. Incredible is also my favorite word, which I think adequately describes gym volleyball, art, and the honey mustard in the school’s cafeteria, the things that were my inspiration for coming to school in the morning. I’d like to give a shout out to my best friend who really helped me through all my most important problems, and to whom I don’t know where I’d be without her today, my TI-83 graphing calculator. I also really like cookies and sushi but I can’t really afford either right now because XXXXXX Township decided to give me three tickets for traffic violations. I swear, Asians aren’t bad drivers it’s just that the road appears a little narrower to us. Alright, but enough about me, today is about you, all of you.
XXXX High School has been a great experience not because of the chances given, but rather because of the opportunities earned. The people I’ve come to meet at XXXXX have been so astoundingly talented in every field, from sports, to music, to life; each one of you has contributed something unique and irreplaceable, making XXXXXXX High School the experience that it has been and I thank all of you. As we all progress through college or on our career paths, I sincerely hope that we always take pride in what we do, remembering that the name we put on our work signifies the placement of all of our heart into what we choose to pursue or otherwise taking ourselves out of it. Now I am not going to be idealistic and say that everything we aspire to do can be achieved, but I will say that the immediate the goals we set forth for ourselves in the short term, if accomplished collectively, can amount to a greater whole. So it then holds that we must never stop working, never stop striving, never stop excelling, in order to attain the best possible share of ours dreams, of our aspirations; for the minute we choose to relent, an individual more talented and more desiring will undoubtedly surpass. Yet, as I stand here, I see some 500 faces that are not filled with the fear of inhibitions which may lay ahead, but rather as 500 determined individuals filled with an ambition and drive to confront these very obstacles and prevail.
I want to finish off by thanking Mr. North and the administration for organizing this event today and their hard work throughout these past 4 years. I’d also like to especially thank all of the teachers at XXXXX High School for their dedication and commitment, as well as the families and friends who have helped us accomplish what we have achieved here today. The hours of work above and beyond what was required have unquestionably paid dividends that have allow us to stand as we are now. I’d also like to especially thank my mom, XXXX, and my dad, XXXX, for their loving support through thick and thin that has allowed me to become who I am today. Thank you for all your hard work and sacrifice and thank you Class of 2009 for allowing me to speak to you today and once again, congratulations.
